Colorado Law Requirement

Court-Required Parenting Education

Colorado courts require parents involved in divorce or custody cases to complete an approved parenting education class. This is typically ordered early in your case and must be finished before a final decree is entered.

C.R.S. § 14-10-123.7

Under Colorado law, parties to a proceeding involving the allocation of parental responsibilities are required to attend a court-approved education program about the impact of divorce and separation on children. Completion is mandatory, and failure to comply may affect your case.
